NAVY-MARINE CORPS RELIEF SOCIETY NAMED ONE OF NONPROFIT TIMES 2018 BEST NONPROFITS TO WORK FOR

Arlington, VA, Thursday, April 5, 2018 – Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society employees consistently highlight their ability to make a difference for active duty and retired Sailors, Marines and their families as the leading factor in their job satisfaction, followed closely by recognition for work done well and the camaraderie they enjoy throughout the organization.

For the fifth consecutive year, 193 full-and-part-time employees of the Society responded to the annual survey conducted by The Nonprofit Times. Their responses resulted in the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society recently being ranked No. 8 of 25 medium-sized nonprofits and No. 14 overall of the Top 50 best nonprofits to work for. “It would be impossible to provide more than $44 million in interest-free loans and grants to 54,000 Marines, Sailors, and their families – without a truly dedicated staff of employees and volunteers. Providing a safe workplace with creative and rewarding work is paramount to their morale and commitment. We make every effort to demonstrate that everyone on our team provides value and contributes to mission accomplishment.” stated Retired USMC BGen Pete Collins, Executive Vice-President and Chief Operations Officer for the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society.

The annual survey and awards program conducted by The Nonprofit Times, is designed to identify, recognize and honor the best employers in the nonprofit industry, benefiting the industry's economy, workforce and businesses.

Nonprofits from across the United States entered the two-part survey process to determine Best Nonprofits To Work For. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated organization's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top nonprofits and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process, analyzed the data and determined the ranking.  For more information on The Nonprofit Times’ Best Nonprofits To Work For program, visit www.BestNonprofitsToWorkFor.com.
