TrawlerFests — Much More Than A Great Time Beginning in 2007, the staff at PassageMaker Magazine, published in Annapolis, Md., selected NMCRS as their charity of choice and began conducting live auctions in conjunction with TrawlerFests – regional boat shows that serve to highlight the benefits and pleasures associated with trawlers.  These festive events, held at port cities in Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, New York and Washington, attract large crowds and Society representatives are always invited to brief the auction audience and thank them for their valuable support. Thus far, 11 TrawlerFests have generated nearly $93,000 in revenue for our organization.  The Solomons Island, Md., TrawlerFest in October 2009 should take us over the top of $100K.  On behalf of Sailors, Marines and their families serving our Nation around the world, Team NMCRS salutes the staff at PassageMaker Magazine and all of the Trawler Fest participants who continue to give so generously to our organization.
